Ultimate Motors which has the GCC distribution rights to some of the fastest metal on the planet, with brands including Shelby Supercars (SSC), Zenvo and Arash, recently announced that it was entering the Indian market.
The car market there is growing at a rate of 25% but luxury and super exotic cars are finding favour with industry tycoons, IT millionaires and the entertainment industry. India is also running it’s own F1 team (F1 Force India) in the pinnacle motorsport series, which has also seen a surge of interest in fast motors.
One of the biggest obstacles (literally) to driving exotic cars there however, (apart from the high taxation of course) is the poor road network and traffic, although the Indian Government is claiming to have embarked on plans to build better infrastructure, particularly good roads.
‘Given its rapidly growing economy and the increasing capacity of high net worth individuals to afford luxury supercars, we have identified India as an ideal market for these new automotive wonders from SSC, Zenvo Automotive and Arash Motor Company,’ said Nasser Al Hai, President, Ultimate Motors.
‘We are also seeing encouraging support from the Indian Government, which fosters the growth of the luxury car market, such as policies on relaxation of equity regulations and the reduction of import tariffs on automobiles. We have partnered with The National Garage in this expansion initiative to India, and by leveraging their presence in the local market, we are confident that this alliance will enable us to reach the most discerning car enthusiasts and buyers based in India.’
So watch out India, landing on your shores very soon is the world’s fastest production car, the 1287bhp, 439kph Ultimate Aero, plus the world’s most mysterious supercar (they wouldn’t take the covers off throughout the entire Dubai show!), the Arash AF-10, and the world’s most… er… Danish supercar, the Zenvo ST1 – limited to just 15 cars.
In addition to India, the company has plans to expand across the GCC through franchise agreements and direct investments, setting its sights on the potential-laden markets of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, as well as Russia.
