Futuristic Luxury: New Infiniti QX80 Monograph Revealed

by Paul Hadley

SUVs are big business nowadays and as a result, every brand is elbowing each other to get ahead of the pack in terms of sales figures for said genre. Infiniti is no different, but the Japanese brand has taken what I feel is a bold approach with its new Infiniti QX80 Monograph. It’s rather striking isn’t it? Finished in what I would call a ‘Champagne Gold’, the new model is what Infiniti describes as the “ultimate expression of futuristic luxury SUV design.”

This is another term used by the brand, so it’s clear that this car is all about the finer things in life. For the time being this is a concept car, but I would be surprised if a production model based on the QX80 is not made available at some point in the future. The car is to be revealed in New York on the 11th of April but until then the details are a bit scarce. The Infiniti QX80 Monograph will help to evolve the brand’s presence in the large SUV market and and it certainly looks large – and rather imposing.

What’s new With the Infiniti QX80 Monograph?

The new concept is taller and wider than the standard production QX80, which means there will more space inside for occupants and luggage alike. The front has been given a revamp, featuring a massive grille and sleek headlights which are almost certainly full LED. The front is not the only place of the design to be tweaked though – the Di-pillar has also been reshaped to make the Infiniti QX80 Monograph look even sharper.

Infiniti Motor Company say

“The QX80 Monograph represents a detailed study into our expertise of exterior design,” says Roland Krueger, President of Infiniti Motor Company Ltd.

“QX80 Monograph shows our concept of luxury and style on the road, and is an exploration into how we could enhance our future Infiniti offering in the luxury SUV segment.”

What are your thoughts on the new model?
